User script to detect unreliable sources
I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (
John Smith "[http://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)
and turns it into something like
- John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.
The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.
Do note that this is not a script to be mindlessly used, and several caveats apply. Details and instructions are available at User:Headbomb/unreliable. Questions, comments and requests can be made at User talk:Headbomb/unreliable.
Diligent Corporation History and Acquisitions- open edit request
Hi WikiProject Business, I'm Julia and I work for Diligent Corporation. Diligent is a business that creates software for corporations to collaborate and share board documents. I am requesting editor assistance to update Diligent's article and thought perhaps editors on WikiProject Business might be interested. I have a few open edit requests which can be found here: concise history rewrite and new additions to expansion & acquisitions.
Help with a rewrite?
Is there any editor who can take a crack at rewriting the lede of Goodwill (accounting) to avoid copying or closely paraphrasing ASC 805-20-55? Unless I'm mistaken, the definition provided by the FASB is copyrighted I'm pretty sure I'm certain I can't provide a clean rewrite without butchering the meaning. Canadian Institute of Actuaries
There's an old edit request at Talk:Canadian Institute of Actuaries from 2019 that was made an IP who declared WP:PAID that doesn't ever appear to have been answered. The edit request was not really formatted as such which might partly explain why nobody ever responded. Perhaps over the years, the changes requested were incorporated, but no corroborating sources were cited in the request. There's also been another recent expansion made by another PAID-declared editor as well that probably also need some assessing. This time, sources were cited in support but they seem to be mostly to the subject of the article's official website. The editor who made the expansion does seem to be trying to do things in accordance with relevant policies and guidelines, but it still might be good for others to take a look at the changes that they made. -- Marchjuly (talk) 21:36, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
Rm "ease of doing business index" from all "economy of" pages
Per this Ref desk post, we should remove the deprecated Ease of doing business index from all the "Economy of country X" pages. Keep a look out I guess, or hunt around, or use a script. (Cross-posted at Project Countries.) Thanks. SamuelRiv (talk) 16:45, 2 July 2022 (UTC)
Elon Musk peer review
If interested, there is an ongoing peer review at Elon Musk. Thanks, ~ 19:40, 6 July 2022 (UTC)
Help with Dan Wagner article update
Hi. Editors of this project might be interested in suggestions to update the article about Dan Wagner (a well-known U.K. tech entrepreneur). The proposals are here: Talk:Dan Wagner#Request Edits April 2022. Since I have a COI, an independent editor or editors must review these. Thanks.W12SW77 (talk) 15:31, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
HomeLight article proposals help
Hi, a while back a few updates were proposed to improve the quality of the HomeLight article here, and since the Request Edits Queue seems to be stalled I am hoping an independent editor might be interested in reviewing those proposals. (I can’t implement them myself since I have a conflict of interest and am aware that would be a violation of Wikipedia policy.) Could someone in this WikiProject please take a look at these requests? Thanks very much. Ilovecats9669 (talk) 18:35, 28 July 2022 (UTC)
